Att: Quadriplegic Parents

Day 2 Day Lifestyle Parenting

Rachelle Chapman is a mother who is a quadriplegic with limited hand function. She demonstrates how she independently gets her daughter out of her crib.

The crib was custom built to be accessible for Rachelle. She can easily roll her wheelchair underneath it, and there are doors on the side for easy access to the baby. The doors are secured by latches at the bottom. The doors can be pulled and pushed to the side once the latches are undone. After some morning hugs and kisses with playtime, Rachelle’s daughter moves on to her lap. Rachelle embraces her with one arm for assistance, and then the mother and daughter are off to start the day!
